I meet the flights in from Rome, here's what I'd tell you
It's about two and a half hours from Fiumicino, and you'll usually land at Heathrow, British Airways into Terminal 5 and ITA Airways alongside it, with the Gatwick flights a little further out. Whichever you're on, I'll have followed it from the moment it left Rome, board up past customs, and if it lands late I'm late with it. You don't pay for the wait.

Small things worth knowing
- London is one hour behind Rome, so a mid-morning flight still leaves you most of the day here.
- Fares are fixed and I'll quote them in euros or pounds. Italian cards are fine, no cash needed.
- Since April 2025 you'll need a UK ETA to come over, £20 on the official app, approved in a day. Sort it before you fly.
How you'll find me
British Airways comes into Heathrow Terminal 5 and ITA Airways into Heathrow beside it, and I'll be at the barrier in the right hall the moment you're through, your name on a board. If Gatwick is where you land, I'm in that arrivals hall the same way. I'll have your flight on my phone, so I'm there when you land, not when you call.
How the fare works
The price is fixed before you fly and it does not move: not for a delayed flight, not for traffic, not for the time I wait at the barrier. I'll quote it in euros or pounds the moment you tell me the flight and where you're headed. Card or account, nothing to settle in the car.
What Rome clients actually book me for
A good mix. Plenty of it is the trip over for pleasure, a few days of London with dinners and the theatre booked tight, a day out to Windsor or the Cotswolds; the rest is business, meetings held to time with the car kept on, and the Bond Street run with the boot filling up (it always does). Tell me which and I'll shape the day around it.
Before you book
Which airport will I come into?
Most Rome flights land at Heathrow, British Airways at Terminal 5 and ITA Airways alongside; some come into Gatwick. Tell me the flight and I'll be at the right barrier, name board up, before you reach the doors.
What if my flight is late?
I track it. If the flight slips, I slip with it and I'm at the barrier when you come through. The fixed fare covers the wait, so a late flight costs you nothing extra.
How far ahead should I book?
A day or two is comfortable for a single car. For a group, a run of days, or the busy summer weeks, the more notice the better, but ask even at short notice and I'll tell you honestly whether I can do it.
What car will I get, and how much luggage fits?
A Mercedes S-Class takes three people and their cases in comfort. The V-Class takes up to seven with the luggage to match. Tell me how many of you there are and how many bags, and I'll send the right car.
